Veteran-Owned Small Business

VOSB

A small business at least 51% owned and controlled by one or more veterans, with priority at the VA under the Veterans First program.

A Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) is a small business that is at least 51% owned and controlled by one or more veterans, regardless of whether they have a service-connected disability. SDVOSB is a subset of VOSB. VOSBs receive priority at the Department of Veterans Affairs under the Veterans First Contracting Program (38 U.S.C. § 8127), where the VA may set aside or sole-source awards to verified VOSBs and SDVOSBs ahead of other socioeconomic categories. Like SDVOSBs, VOSBs are now certified by the SBA through VetCert.
