Sources Sought Notice
A market-research notice asking which firms can perform a requirement, often used to justify a set-aside decision.
A sources sought notice is a market-research announcement posted on SAM.gov asking businesses to identify themselves and describe their capability to perform an upcoming requirement. Agencies use the responses to decide whether to set the acquisition aside for small business or a socioeconomic category β making a strong sources sought response one of the highest-leverage actions an SDVOSB can take to influence whether a contract becomes an SDVOSB set-aside.
