U.S. Small Business Administration
SBA
The federal agency that sets size standards, runs socioeconomic certification programs, and advocates for small business.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is the federal agency responsible for supporting small businesses. It sets the size standards for every NAICS code, administers socioeconomic certification programs (including VetCert for SDVOSBs/VOSBs, 8(a), HUBZone, and WOSB), runs the All Small Mentor-Protégé Program, and decides size and status protests through its Area Offices and Office of Hearings and Appeals. The SBA also negotiates governmentwide small business contracting goals with agencies.
