What happens if a mentor-protégé agreement is terminated?
If a mentor-protégé agreement is terminated, any JV formed under that agreement can no longer submit new offers on set-aside contracts using the size exemption. Existing contracts awarded to the JV can generally be completed. SBA must be notified of the termination within 10 business days. A protégé can seek a new mentor after termination, subject to SBA approval and the 10-year total participation limit.
