What is a UEI and how do I get one?
A Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) replaced the DUNS number for federal contracting in April 2022. The UEI is a 12-character alphanumeric identifier assigned through SAM.gov registration. To get a UEI, create an account at SAM.gov and complete the entity registration process. There is no cost for SAM.gov registration. Your UEI is required on all federal contracts and grant applications.
