What is a CAGE code and do I need one?
A Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code is a 5-character identifier assigned by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to businesses that contract with or supply the DoD and other federal agencies. You receive a CAGE code automatically when you register in SAM.gov. Your CAGE code is required on most federal contracts and is used in systems like FPDS-NG to track your contracting history.
